Mid-Term Presentation

This week, our team, ideas and achievements had been evaluated during the mid-term presentations session.

The evaluation took place on Mondays morning (25.04.2016). The goal was - be as well prepared as possible. In order to achieve that we met earlier that day and performed 2 rehearsals of our presentation. It appeared, that the presentation is slightly too long. After brainstorming, we decided that the best solution to the occurred issue is to simply delete 2 not important slides. Thanks to that we had spare time during the presentation, thus we did not have to hurry.

Comparing with the other teams, we subjectively judge that, despite a few errors that appeared, our performance was one of the best ones :)
In spite of not knowing what was the result of evaluation, we feel quite confident that the presentation was taken positively and we did a proper job.

Now, we continue our work. There are few meetings with the workshops representatives ahead of us, so Stay Tuned and be patient, new posts will appear soon!

Poznań Motor Show

Yesterday, we have visited Poznań Motor Show and we are more than happy to announce that the trip went way beyond our expectations!
Not only we have seen all the latest models of each motorization giant present in Europe, but also we were given the tremendous amount of information.

Considering the enormity of the event, it shouldn`t be surprising that it lasts for 4 days long. It is basically impossible to visit every stand within 1 day. Having spent around 5 hours straight, without any breaks or distractions, we barely manged to visit every stand in the car-related section

(and there were many other, equally huge sections).

The plan was - ask as many brand representatives questions that we had previously prepared. Well, it turned out not to be that simple...

The first impression of the automotive industry at its best swept us off our feet. We were entirely delighted. Inside the first hall we didin`t follow the plan at all. The crowd, shiny vehicles  and of course beautiful hostesses made us distracted in every possible way.
Time for the second hall - the Volkswagen Group kingdom. The excitement was balanced, therefore we began seeking for somebody who could give us an interview. Few minutes later, we have found Maurycy Kośmicki  standing next to VW Golf R. Mr. Kośmicki was kind enough and provided us with a comprehensive knowledge about this particular Golf model. Then, we have spoken to Gosia Rdest - a professional race driver.  The conversation with her was sparked off by our French colleague Victor Tomaselli. Unfortunately, she was on her way to the lunch brake, but she had enough time to give us some crucial information about her race-tuned Seat Leon.
On that stage we have been already extremely pleased how easy it is to begin an interview with the professionals. Surprisingly, they were keen on speaking to both the potential clients or sponsors and the students.
Next stop - Audi. Feeling motivated and self-confident we have spoken to dr inż. Grzegorz Laskowski - a representative of Audi Polska. Mr. Laskowski`s possesed impressive knowledge about the brand and products that Audi produced in the past, now and the future products as well. He dedicated us a considerable amount of time and made us aware of how innovative Audi is becoming.
The clock was ticking, thus we had to speed up a little bit. Having moved to the next building, we stopped near the Akrapovič stand. Again, we couldn`t believe our luck as they asked us come inside the stand and let us talk to Mr. Primoz Asenberger - Sales Manager from Akrapovič factory in Slovenia! We have spent there more than half an hour talking with him and watching short videos from the production processes. Additionally, we were given the opportunity to hear the difference in sound between series and manufactured by Akrapovič exhaust systems from the top-notch car models.
Last stop was the hall with brands like Citroen, Honda, Toyota or Kia. After that stage, our visit to Poznań Motor Show was practically over. We were drained of energy and extremely hungry. The closing hour was approaching, we headed to the exit.

The knowledge we have gained there was not accessible via any source that we have came across. Definitely, the trip was worth any effort and struggle. We would like to thank every person that devoted us their time and agreed to speak to us in the first place :).

We are especially thankful to:

  • Mr. Maurycy Kośmicki from Volkswagen,
  • Mr. Grzegorz Laskowski from Audi,
  • Ms.  Gosia Rdest
  • and Mr. Primoz Asenberger from Akrapovič

Now we cannot wait for the next fair - Kraków Motor Show!

Below you can see selected photos from our trip:

Approaching trip to Poznań

Our presence on Poznań Motor Show is already set.
The mean of transport has been chosen - we will travel by car.

Yesterday Wojtek have bought tickets for the event:

We are extremely excited!

Where to go...

After countless negotiations and disputes, we have finally decided that we wouldn`t like to be only theoreticians and we desire to gain practical knowledge throughout the process as well.

As a result, it was suggested that we should take part in any possible tuning events or fairs in Poland that are worth visiting. As anyone can probably guess, we accepted the idea with a lot of enthusiasm.

We have begun with thorough search for the best possible moto-event.

As we were surprised with the overwhelming selection of options, it was decided that we should pick the fair considering the following factors: distance, price and quality.

After decision-making process we have chosen 3 events:

Karków Motor Show

Poznań Motor Show
"Zlot Opla" in Konstantynów Łódzki

Unfortunately, the last one was not accepted by all of the members. The quality of this event was controversial :). Therefore, our timetable was at last set. We will visit Kraków and Poznań this year!

Professional business cards are on board!

First step to became a non-amateur project team has been made.

Earlier this week, we have received a freshly-made business cards of our own design!
